1 Eastman Unveils New Elite Dealer Program Branding
At its annual Elite Dealer Conference, Eastman rolled out its new "LLumar SelectPro" dealer program. The company expects it will increase its dealers' effectiveness to sell window film by setting new standards of participation.
"It's critical our (elite) dealers have a mobile-friendly website," for example, says Darrell Reed, commercial director, North America. He adds that they expect almost all of the company's elite dealers to fully align with this program, which launches in 2017.

2 Will Paint-On Coating Replace Window Film?
The U.S. Department of Energy's Berkeley Lab seems to be targeting window film with a new paint-on coating it claims will be one-tenth the price.
"There are retrofit window films on the market now that have spectral selectivity, but a professional contractor is needed to install them," reads a post by Berkeley's science writer Julie Chao.
Department officials claim the liquid will apply evenly.

3 Eastman Names Dealers of the Year
Eastman's highest honor this year went to Huntington Beach, Calif.-based The Tint Pros, owned by father-and-son duo Lonnie and Greg Earl. They exhibited "dealer loyalty, growth and use of Eastman's exclusive Formula-One High Performance Auto Tint sales and marketing programs," according to a company statement.
Eleven other companies were recognized for their regional accomplishments.

4 Hüper Optik's Dealers of the Year Named
Hüper Optik announced its annual awards in Las Vegas.
Four companies received the supplier's highest honors for success in 2015. The awards were given to dealers who made an impact within the network and in sales over the last 12 months.
They are: Window Tint LA in Los Angeles; D&M Shutter and Blind Inc. in St. George , Utah; Adams Window Tinting in Oklahoma City; and Blinds & Designs LLC in Fletcher, N.C.

5 Solar Gard Names its Panorama Dealer Standouts
Solar Gard's tenth annual Panorama dealer meeting was held with the theme "Success In View."
"In today's increasingly competitive marketplace, it's critical that we educate and equip our Panorama Elite Dealers with the product technology, sales training and tools to assume a leadership role in the industry," says Gary Clark, the company's new architectural business segment manager. He announced structural changes that he claims will boost the Panorama network and a new product, both of which he projects will lead to success in 2016.
David G. Capps, owner of AAA Glass Tint Inc., in Crystal Lake, Ill., took home the meeting's highest honor of Dealer of the Year. Eight other companies were recognized for outstanding performance.
